Method process：

Introduction:

 Propylthiouracil is Propylthiouracil (PTU) or 6-N-Propylthiouracil (PROP). Because it reduces the amount of thyroid hormone produced by the thyroid gland, it is a thiamide drug used to treat hyperthyroidism, including goiter oculi. An obvious side effect of treatment with this drug is the risk of granulocyte deficiency. On July 3, 2009, the FDA issued a warning to health care providers about the chemical, saying it "may cause serious damage to the liver, including liver failure, and possibly death."
